japanese maple

Japanese Maple -- leaves unfolding. . . (Acer palmatum)  This same tree features in Week VII of the
Picture/Poems permanent collection, with a page called More Leaves: Maple Symmetry and a series
of poems based fractal symmetry rhythms. the lead poem is titled A Die Falls.

...The die comes to rest
on a '3'
but we need a '2' since one of

any thing
makes no difference,

makes no place
for our butterfly, waiting so
patiently till now, to spread its

wings.
