ironweed summer

Butterflyweed, composite images of flowers, pods and seeds. . .(Asclepias tuberosa). The pods shown
above right are ripening at present. It's an amazing almost surreal transformation, from flower to developing
seedpod, which bear no relationship in outward form. (Only one flower per cluster is pollinated.)
Native to North America.
