poplar patterns

Poplar Patterns . . .(Poplar canadensis)  A remarkable pattern of channels cut into the wood of Poplar by a boring insect.
The tree now a standing snag, bark gone, wood sun-bleached, the pattern is exposed to the open air. For me, the subtle
meander figures read something like an ur-  or primal poem.
