SUN CHARGE!—

According to my solar buddy, Canadian Ralph Schoof, the output
of the panel is .5 Amps. He measured +- 16 v DC with his digital
voltmeter on the hood of his camper pickup, under the friendly and
abundant Montana sun up at Marias Pass, while his wife, Heather,
treated my technophobia with gingerale & chocolate chip cookies.
That was many weeks ago, but their advice and encouragement
gave me enough energy to keep experimenting with my system.
So there you have it!—While the dinosaurs of the world prepare
to fight to the bitter end for the last drops of petrol, the overly
obvious alternative of the cheerful light of the sun only serves
to bring people together!

My goal is simple: power a MacBook and a couple of Nikon
cameras out in the field reliably for weeks at a time. (Any tips
by other willing experts are always appreciated . . .)
