Cusick's Monkey-flower, (Mimulus cusickii, member of the Figwort family)
The generic name, Mimulus, comes from the Latin mimus which means mimic.
Especially in the sense of mimic actor. The idea, evidently, is that the 'face' of
these beautifully colored flowers imitates the countenance of an, we suppose,
'happy' monkey!
